Back Like I Never Left?

Yesterday we got news that Angie Martinez(a radio personality, better yet radio legend) was retiring from the once very popular station Hot97, ran out of New York. Well today, on the Breakfast Club, it was announced that she was joining forces with them and taking over the afternoon show on power105. AMAZING. She got another job faster than Jason Kidd upon retiring. Did she do it for the syndication? Not a bad look at all if so. Whatever the case may be, it's great she didn't completely quit.

Life and Times

Last night Angie Martinez of HOT97 in New York recorded her last show as a HOT97 radio host. She has resigned from the company which is amazingly awkward! As long as I can remember, she was pretty much the face of the most infamous radio station world wide. Rumor has it she's going to another radio station but that hasn't been confirmed. However, she released this statement confirming that her reign with HOT97 has come to an end ... Sad day in Hip Hop.

"Today I resigned from HOT97. I am grateful to the Emmis family for my time with the company and the immeasurable way that it has shaped my life. We made history together in so many ways and I will cherish those memories and my friendships forever. This was one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to make but ultimately it is time to move on, to grow and to be challenged in new ways. Saying goodbye is always emotional and bitter sweet but I am extremely excited about the future. Thank you HOT97 and most importantly….the listeners… for an unimaginable journey.
