Ok. So, at first I was questioning whether or not the "internet" was helping or killing the music industry. Well not exactly the music industry, but the Hip Hop music industry. Because older people still actually go out & purchase their preferred genre of music. But never-the-less, the epidemic of the "debate" could go both ways. Pause. Now, I won't go in depth, but I will say that it is definetly helping the industry because artists are getting FREE marketing & advertisement, as well as opening new doorways for artists who would've never stood a chance without it. But, on the other hand, the internet prevents every & anything from being "exclusive." Meaning, whether its, a new album, a song/remix, a video, behind the scenes footage (which really isn't behind the scenes anymore), battles, concerts, or anything that used to be anticipated, is now right at our fingertips. One click away. Now my point to all this, sorry, I know I said I was going to keep this short. But my point to all this is that I was excited to see Drake perform, live in person, but I saw so much footage of his performances that I felt like it wasn't worth going to a show. I felt like I had seen what his performance had to offer. Not that they weren't good shows, but why would I pay to see him do the same songs that I just watched him perform on youtube from the next state over. Understanding? Now, the moral is I now can respect & appreciate what Drizzy is bringing to the table (even more) after watching this video because they made me realize that he spits an new freestyle (off the top. pause) at almost, if not everyone of his shows. Now, thats exclusive. That is what hip hop needs.

Ok, so I was reading this post over at XXL.com & it was saying how Cam'ron's new album Crime Pays, which dropped last Tuesday, only outsold Jimmy's most recent release, Pray IV Reign, by 100 units. Wtf? Am I the only one that sees something wrong with this? Cam has been missing in action for 3 years! His album was "highly anticipated!" Lol. But anywho, I'm not trying to single out Killa, what I'm saying is that this is getting real bad. Somethings gotta give. These artists are putting out quality music

& us as fans are not doing our part.

Here he talks about how much better he feels that T.I. has been spitting since he started writing his rhymes down again, and explains why he can’t employ the Biggie/Jay technique of spitting from the head rather than writing rhymes down.

XXL: That’s wild because I was just talking to Paul [Rosenberg] about how T.I. seems to have caught this amazing fire when he had to stay home on house arrest. He was saying for like the last two albums he was freestyling like on the Jay thing, going in the booth line by line or whatever. T.I. said that you guys had become cool.

Eminem: Yeah, yeah, we definitely built a relationship over you know, just recording and hanging out and shit, just…T.I. reminds me of me in the sense that he’s just a regular dude. He’s just real, he’s real humble, real just chill…just you know what I mean? The way we vibed in the studio and just talked and kicked it, it was like, “wow! This dude is cool.” We just kinda became friends after that. But I watched him do that shit in the studio, and that’s right around the time I kinda started wanting to do it or was kinda doing it but I couldn’t do it as good as him. And from what I heard, I don’t know if this is correct or not, but Lil Wayne does it.

XXL: Oh Yeah.

Eminem: Yeah I’m not as good as those guys when I do that. Like I can’t…I gotta actually sit down. For me, I want to actually write a whole song, because if I start, if I get to the second verse and I get stuck, I don’t want to record it just for nothing you know? So I kinda gotta write a whole song out and know if it’s gonna be a song and then record it. But I watched T.I. do that and was like, “How the fuck is he doing this?” Because it was intricate still you know what I mean like as he was going along like line by line. But when he actually got that time to write, you could definitely tell and I told him many times over the phone the way that he did this record was just, you know… you could tell, you could tell that he actually sat down and he crafted his rhymes. Like he’s got rhymes, he’s got lines that rhyme inside of rhymes and shit like that, which somebody like me can appreciate so much just because you know I do it. I try to do that. So like when you hear someone else do that, it’s like, you know how much time it takes to do it yourself so you can appreciate it,

you know what I mean?

Eskay Comment: Everything’s ass backwards nowadays. Rappers are spitting their album cuts from the dome and then passing off writtens as “freestyles” when it should be the other way around. If you ask me, if anybody needs to leave that memorization shit alone, it’s Wayne. Carter III was alright, but imagine what it could have been if this guy wasn’t feeling himself so tough.

This show will be dope & I would definetly attend, no matter the price of the tickets. Lol. But anywho, I think "The Bosses Tour" featuring Cam'ron & Jadakiss would be a much better show to see! Only because I've seen Jay about 1000 times. Wayne's shows are always good, Jeezy not so much. While Drake is fantastic(no rainbow) he doesn't even belong with this group of established heavy hitters. Thats just in my opinion. Now Drake, Kid Cudi, & Asher Roth would def be a good show to attend. (Just imaginative thoughts.) Or even a Drake, Keri Hilson, & Day 26 (I wouldn't attend) but would probably sell out even faster than the Drizzy, Cudi, & Asher. Lol. But anywho, I say Cam & Jada? Y.O. to Harlem? Insanity. You know theres going to be some guest appearances for the NY show. (hint: a Dip Set reunion???) Guess thats more "imaginative thinking."
